Job Title: Renewable Program DirectorJob Description: The Renewable Program Director is responsible for maintaining and enhancing Freedom's renewable energy program through researching and developing opportunities and partnerships while supporting the sales department in obtaining renewable energy business. They will work with other members of the team to deliver renewable solutions to clients and keep the company informed of the policy and legislative changes that affect the renewable program. They will report to whoever is above them in the company organization chart, currently the COO. They will oversee generating new business and meeting department sales goals and objectives.
Career Path: Renewable Program Directors can look for growth in sales and sustainability opportunities including but not limited to: Senior Renewable Program Director, Sustainability Manager, Sustainability Director, VP of Renewables, and Chief Sustainability Officer.
Job Responsibilities
Research, develop, and maintain relationships with new and existing renewable energy partners to maintain and expand available renewable service options and areas served.
Prepare weekly updates for Freedom on state-specific renewable legislation, virtual net metering opportunities, emerging opportunities in the renewable space, current renewable deals/revenues, and potential partnerships.
Provide updates to the company on the specific state-by-state applications for clients through company meetings, weekly updates, newsletters, speaking engagements, training materials, and other forms of thought leadership on a regular basis
Attend meetings/calls with other members of the Freedom team to discuss renewable energy solutions that meet client needs and sustainability requirements
Develop a portfolio of long-lasting satisfied customers.
Actively listen to and engage prospects, identifying needs, providing education, and guiding to the product that best meets the needs communicated.
Proactively drive continuous improvement, providing input on products, marketing strategies, sales improvements, recruitment, and team collaboration
Stay abreast of the renewable energy industry, competitors, new product offerings, and pricing through industry publications, webinars, etc., and use this knowledge to initiate and expand opportunities for Freedom in the renewable space
Become an expert in the renewables, wholesale power, and natural gas markets.
Research and onboard qualified vendors to diversify Freedom's renewable portfolio and expand the company's geographic footprint
Be a thought leader for the organization contributing ideas, articles, webinars, and other forms of media to educate Freedom team members, clients, and the community on the renewable energy industry.
Manage inside and outside sales calls
Manage call lists and sales databases with information and expiration dates through Salesforce
Meet weekly call quotas and other established, new, and additional goals.
Attend networking events related to renewable energy, sustainability, and net metering.
Answer inbound calls from clients and potential partners
Follow all procedures for pricing requests, enrolling clients, and internal documentation.
Have fun and enjoy working with a great team.
Perform other general administrative duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters Degree preferred.
5-7 years' experience in renewable energy
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, comfortable with Excel & computers
Customer Service oriented
Ability to communicate via phone, email, and in person.
Create and manage a pipeline of prospects to execute on sales strategy.
Extreme attention to detail is a must.
Must enjoy working within a high-energy team environment.
Hard working with the willingness to learn and take direction.
100% honesty and integrity
Entrepreneurial & Self-motivated
Strong work ethic, positive attitude
Must have a valid driver's license and insurance, and capable of driving to and from customer locations.
Ideal QualificationsCertification or degree in Renewable Energy or Sustainability
