In DOOM (2016) and DOOM Eternal Glory Kills were a special animation for the Doom Slayer as he dealt the final blow to an enemy. Though DOOM The Dark Ages Glory Kills function a bit differently, they are still present in the game.

Glory Kill animations are significantly rarer in DOOM The Dark Ages, and many players don't think they are still in the game. But in fact, Glory Kills are present in the new DOOM title – though they aren't as common as in the previous two games, the Glory Strikes system didn't replace these iconic animations entirely.
How To Trigger Glory Kills & Perform Glory Strikes

In DOOM The Dark Ages, Glory Strikes are your primary "finisher" move. After dealing enough damage to a non-fodder enemy, it will become Dazed, indicated by a purple aura. The monster is effectively stunned for the brief Dazed duration. If you press your melee input while highlighting this enemy, you will rush towards them and deliver a final blow, typically using your melee weapon.
Glory Strikes do not always kill the enemy outright, but will often disable their attacks or stagger them after the Glory Strike connects. However, your melee attacks are faster after performing a Glory Strike, so get in close and personal and melee them to death if they survive the initial Glory Strike.
Usually, you will punch, kick, or melee the enemy with a singular finishing blow, but sometimes, you will trigger a Glory Kill instead.
In DOOM The Dark Ages, Glory Strikes are not the same as melee attacks, and can only be triggered if an enemy is Dazed, glowing purple, with the Glory Strike input hovering above their model.
Glory Kills do still exist in DOOM The Dark Ages, but they are much harder to trigger, and some are only associated with specific enemies and mini-bosses. Almost every Demonic Essence boss and mini-boss has a unique Glory Kill-like animation when you absorb its essence to upgrade your resources, and major bosses also grant a unique finisher animation when defeated.
Against normal enemies, it's much rarer to see a Glory Kill animation. You must be moving in a particular direction, or jumping, and target an enemy that is Glory Strike ready for the chance to trigger one. There are two Glory Kill animations we have encountered so far against normal enemies, both of which were initiated by jumping and then Glory Striking a Dazed demon:
- The Doom Slayer performs a Curb Stomp finisher, like in previous DOOM games, if you Glory Strike while jumping above an enemy
- The Doom Slayer launches his Saw Shield at the enemy, ripping them in half. This can also trigger if you Glory Strike while jumping, though we have also seen it when Glory Striking from the ground.
There are likely more Glory Kill animations in the game than just these two. It appears to be mostly random whether you will get a Glory Kill animation for a Glory Strike, but generally, they seem to proc more often when in motion or jumping. If you haven't had any luck in seeing Glory Kills, DOOM The Dark Ages players should try jumping before every Glory Strike, as it seems to be tied to these unique animations.
