- Box Office Report: Here Is How Emraan Hashmi's Ground Zero Performed During Its First Weekend
Ground Zero had a slow start but picked up momentum over the weekend with growing word of mouth and decent box office collections.
Emraan Hashmi’s military drama Ground Zero had a rather slow start at the box office, but things seem to be picking up thanks to positive word of mouth and the current mood in the valley. The film made Rs 2.15 crores on Sunday, performing better than it did on Friday and Saturday. On its opening day, Ground Zero collected Rs 1.15 crore, and on Saturday, it earned Rs 1.9 crore. After its first three days, the film’s total collection in India stands at Rs 5.20 crores.
Globally, the movie managed to earn Rs 3.65 crores in its first two days, with Sunday’s international numbers still awaited. Compared to Emraan Hashmi’s recent films, Ground Zero is trailing a bit. His last big release, Tiger 3 with Salman Khan, had an impressive third-day figure of Rs 43.5 crores. Before that, Selfiee collected Rs 3.95 crores on day three and crossed Rs 10 crores over its opening weekend. Even his 2021 film Mumbai Saga performed slightly better, bringing in Rs 3.5 crores on its third day and over Rs 8 crores during its first weekend.

Despite falling short when stacked against Emraan’s previous box office outings, Ground Zero has shown promise, especially considering how unpredictable the box office has been lately. Word of mouth has helped the film gain traction, leading to an increase in theatre occupancy. On Sunday, Ground Zero recorded an overall occupancy of 17.25 percent across 1669 shows, a positive sign that audiences are warming up to it as the weekend progressed.
